Windy Lake Wood Co. is a furniture design company specializing in bringing your custom ideas to life through modern and rustic pieces. In 2019, we could sense the need in Thunder Bay for custom, handmade furniture fabricated with only the best quality, locally sourced material. As new homeowners, we understood this need and saw an opportunity.
Furnishing a space is an extension of personal style or a brand’s values—we know this. With wood and epoxy, the possibilities are endless. Windy Lake Wood Co. has helped several clients distinguish both commercial and residential spaces with pieces that truly stand out.
OUR BELIEF
Windy Lake Wood Co. aims to support local businesses and industries. All of our materials and supplies are fabricated and sourced in Canada—most from within Ontario.
While we occasionally source exotic wood species for special projects, all the rest of our lumber is ethically harvested from Canadian farmland and occasionally rescued from commercial burn piles during development projects. Taking these otherwise overlooked pieces gives us the opportunity to repurpose these trees and give them new, long-lasting life.
Alongside this, we believe that all makers, new and experienced, should have access to premium product and supply. The live edge lumber we carry and distribute is always kiln dried, planed, and sanded to 120 grit so that our customers can have confidence in the material they purchase from Windy Lake Wood Co.
